This policy explains how the Chinese Idioms dictionary app (the app is displayed as Idioms on supported devices) handles information. The app is developed and operated by HIFORCE INTERNATIONAL CO., LIMITED ("we", "us", or "our"). It applies to the current mobile release, including Android application ID ai.hiforce.idiomdict and iOS bundle identifier ai.hiforce.IdiomDict.
1. Offline design and scope
Chinese Idioms is designed as an offline dictionary. Dictionary searches, browsing, examples, pronunciation information, stories, riddles, afterwords, and games run on the device using the packaged dictionary database and local app data. At the time of this policy, the app does not provide an app-operated account, cloud synchronization, or a server that receives dictionary searches or local user activity.
2. Information stored on your device
The app may store the following information locally so that its features work:
- Favorites: idioms that you save or remove from your favorites list.
- Recent searches: search text, search mode, and a local timestamp. The app keeps at most 20 recent search records and provides a way to clear them.
- Game statistics: local best scores, play counts, and update times for the built-in games.
- Preferences: language preference, theme, color/palette choice, and supported app-icon preference.
- App files: the bundled dictionary database and local installation/integrity metadata needed to load it correctly. These are not a user profile.
This information is stored in the app's private storage area. We do not claim that the local SQLite database is separately encrypted; use your device lock, OS security controls, and trusted device backups to protect the device.
3. Device motion for shake-to-refresh
On the riddle and afterword screens, the app may read the device's user-accelerometer data while that screen is active to detect a shake and refresh the local content. The sensor stream is used only for this interaction: raw motion samples are not saved, sent to us, sold, or used to build a profile. The subscription ends when you leave the screen.
4. Information we do not collect
In the current release, we do not ask the app for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, precise location, advertising identifier, or account password. We do not include app-operated advertising, behavioral analytics, crash-reporting SDKs, or a user-account backend. The app does not send your favorites, search history, game statistics, settings, or dictionary queries to our servers.
5. Sharing, transfer, and disclosure
Because the information described above stays on your device, we do not sell or share it from the app. We may disclose information if required by law, a valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users or our services. If you contact us, your message and email address are handled by your email provider and by our support team for the purpose of responding to you.
6. Retention and deletion
Local favorites, search history, game statistics, and preferences remain on your device until you remove them, clear the app's storage, uninstall the app, or the operating system removes them. Search history and favorites can be cleared through the app's controls. The app does not independently back up or sync this information; platform backups, device migration, or app-store services may handle app data under their own settings and policies.
7. Purchases and platform services
The current app does not require an account, subscription, in-app purchase, or paid unlock to use its features. If you obtain the app through an app store or other distributor, that provider may process purchase, order, device, diagnostic, or download information under its own privacy policy. We do not receive payment-card details through the app.
8. Children
The app is a general dictionary and learning tool. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us through support, please contact us so that we can address it.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, applicable law may give you rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or otherwise control personal information. Since the app has no user-account backend, most app data can be reviewed or deleted directly on your device. 10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app's features, data practices, or legal requirements change. We will publish the updated version at this location and change the "Last updated" date. Please review it before using a materially changed release.
